Groundlings Weren’t Stupid

… and neither are modern general audiences.

Kevin Tsjuihara, CEO of Warner Brothers, decided to keep Justice League UNDER two hours to fill more theater seats with general audience.   “General audience” is basically the modern day studio mindset version of groundlings.  Groundlings were people who couldn’t afford the wooden seats of the Globe Theater to watch a Shakespeare play.  They had to stand in a pit in order to watch this entertainment.  Standing room only.  Pack them in.

Groundlings enjoyed the same things about the plays as the people who rattled their jewelry while sitting on a cushion in the wooden decks.  Like Queen Elizabeth I, a groundling would enjoy the nuances of the Shakespeare’s twists and turns in plot, as well as action scenes.   The pit people got a mention in Hamlet so even Shakespeare knew their worth.

Who’s to say a groundling wouldn’t enjoy more ‘high brow’ stuff than Her Regalness?   No matter what your status, some people go to hockey games for the fights or go to Nascar for the wrecks.  You can’t judge who enjoys what — but apparently Tsujihara decided ‘general audiences’ liked films under 2 hours and Whedon supplied the ass-shots, boob dives, failed humor and ubiquitous Russian family (if anyone should have been ubiquitous, it should have been DARKSEID!) — which is basically schlock.  Apparently WB’s attitude is ‘general audiences’ love schlock, right?

Justice League:  Live Action or Cartoon with actors?  Certainly the theatrical version which Joss Whedon (and the WB suits) presented us with was definitely cartoon material.  I’m not talking anime here — I’m talking cartoon — which eventually became a way to sell product rather than have interesting stories.  Marvel is more cartoon than DCEU  — at least before Whedon marvelized Justice League.

Why Geoff Johns did not inform his higher ups that comics (30 years ago) had moved on from cartoons to more real life situations is a complete mystery.  What did he do exactly?  From what I can surmise from his comic book job as Chief Creative Officer — Geoff is not one for confrontation.  He doesn’t seem to give push back.  At least the final product hasn’t been evidence of it.  (*cough* new 52)

Previous to Justice League, the DCEU was not a cartoon with actors.  It was live action epic using comic characters and their legendary stories.  It related modern day problems to a modern day audience by using the DC superheroes as a vehicle — which is something the comics have done for decades.  Snyder’s DCEU was Shakespeare compared to Whedon’s Benny Hill antics.  Shakespeare appeals to all sorts of people and for different reasons.   The Bard wrote historicals, comedies and tragedies — and each one had a mixture of the three.   Previously the DCEU (Zack Snyder) didn’t ‘dumb down’ to appeal to a ‘general audience’ or what WB execs idea of a ‘general audience’ was.

How ‘general’ can an audience be if these characters and many of their stories have been in existence for 80 years?  It’s in the universal consciousness.  People are born with knowing something about these characters.  Aside from the 80 years of comics, there have been animation (sometimes cartoons) since the 1940s.  But more importantly, there have been live action films and television series of these characters.  Superman has had Kirk Allen, George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Brandon Routh and now Henry Cavill play the Man of Steel.  Batman has had a plethora of films including a Batman serial in the 40s as well as a television series.  Wonder Woman has had a television series and now a highly successful (on all fronts) film.  Flash has had two television series.  Aquaman has had one tv pilot and appeared on Smallville.  Cyborg also appeared on Smallville.  But at least three of these characters have never been in a live action big screen property until the DCEU.  Although Aquaman, Cyborg and Flash appeared briefly in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, they definitely did not have origin stories.  Justice League was supposed to be about that as well as other storylines.  Wouldn’t a ‘general audience’ need to know these origins to understand why the characters are motivated or not motivated to do what they do in the film?  Why cut that?  To stay under two hours?  Seriously?  Does WB think their audiences are just lemmings — hey, here’s a shiny thing, sit your butt in a seat and pay us money?  Unfortunately the shiny thing (trailers) was a bait and switch and the audience did not see what they had been lured into the theater for.

Zack Snyder’s cut before leaving, which was seen by WB execs and deemed unwatchable, was over 3 hours.  We have many people who worked on Justice League say there is definitely a cut (maybe not just an assembly cut as other so called ‘experts’ have ‘surmised’) and a JunkieXL score.   These are the things we saw in the trailers which weren’t in Whedon’s version.  People want to see  SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE.    Save face WB.  Make it happen.

Speaking of saving face . . .  WB has given us crumbs again while spouting, “see we’re making changes.”  Oh really ??   Keeping Tsujihara and giving him the stoplight to projects isn’t much of a change.  Oh, he’s not going to be involved in the day to day — why, as CEO, would he be in the day to day of any particular film in the first place???

Toby Emmerich is now Chairman of Warner Brothers Pictures Group.  Which means he’s head honcho — is Johns still just an advisor?  Wasn’t Toby one of those who reportedly decided not to extend Justice League’s release date because they wouldn’t get their 2017 bonuses?   Yea, I’m feeling reassured now .  #sarcasm

Sue Kroll, formerly President of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, now has a producer deal.  She had ties with Christopher Nolan.  IF she lost her position due to the ‘no Superman’ in the initial ads for Justice League – that’s just crap.  Superman died in the 90s in the comics, he also came back.  With using Doomsday in BvS, most fans knew Superman would be back.  The DCEU was introduced with Superman as the foundation – they wouldn’t just leave him dead.  PLUS, the trailers which referred to Superman – Alfred HOPING he wasn’t too late and Lois and Clark in a cornfield discussing their ‘engagement’ showed or at least hinted Superman/Clark would be back — which fans were VERY excited about.  (WB, please look at the reaction videos of that final trailer when fans see Clark in the cornfield — people were exhilarated.) Unfortunately neither of these trailer scenes were in the Whedon version.  Many people were looking forward to Superman’s resurrection, perhaps in the black suit (as he was in the comics), Clark’s return to the Daily Planet and the explanation thereof, and Clark and Lois showing how their love and hope can survive even death.  But the audience was deprived of the reasons why they went into the theater.  Bad move, WB.

The biggest fail of all — there is no Man of Steel 2 scheduled for 2018, which is Superman’s 80th anniversary.   Why did Geoff Johns allow that to happen?  There was a second film being done during Justice League — which should have been MOS2.  How can Warner Brothers make it up to Superman fans by completely ignoring this anniversary with one of the best Supermen in Henry Cavill.  WB doesn’t deserve our money or our attention.

Batman fans better consider they may not have a Batman solo film in 2019, the Caped Crusader’s 80th anniversary.   More fail.

Warner Brothers is not changing.  They’re manipulating as they always have – and killing the DCEU (not just Superman this time).

Way to go, WB.  #moresarcasm  Keep bragging how you brought down the Siegel and Shuster families while desecrating the comic film universe you had.  Man of Steel (without your interference) was a hit.  Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Cut was a success.  Wonder Woman keeping the No Man’s Land scene (a pivotal hero and emotional moment) in tact showed what the DCEU could be with audiences and critiques.

WB execs work out of fear.  “Oh, what will the critiques say!  We can’t have that.  Well, yes, the films made us money, but the critiques hated it.”  So let me get this straight, people who paid money to see the films made them financially successful.  Critiques, who got freebie passes, didn’t.  Hmmmm what’s wrong with this picture?

Again WB — learn this lesson well.  Put your best foot forward in the theatrical version.  This double/triple dipping is impressing NOBODY.  It’s keeping people from the theaters because they know there’s a better version on the horizon.  And aren’t all films judged as financially successful by their box office (or lack thereof)?

Your audience has stopped playing the game and is waiting for the better version to come out later.  Surprise us — put a GREAT version in the theaters — it’d certainly help the film and theater industry.

General audiences, as well as groundlings, fork out hard earned pay to see your films.  Respect that.  Respect them.

DC Fans: Can We Trust Warner Brothers?

The answer is clear to me if not to you.  The answer is no.

Justice League was symptomatic of the behind the scenes at Warner Brothers.  Kevin Tsujihara and the rest of the ‘suits’ totally ripped the heart out of that film.  Not to mention, but I will, imploding the box office and destroying any trust DC fans had with the Warner Brother leadership.  This would also effect DVD/blu ray sales.  Some fans are saying they won’t even buy a theatrical cut let alone an extended cut of what was presented.  We had hoped Tsujihara had learned his lesson with BvS on theatrical vs extended, but unfortunately, this 2 hour limit is a mantra for him.  He tried to do this with the Harry Potter films along with Diane Nelson.  (Do the research)

Speaking of Nelson, why is she still Geoff Johns’ boss?  He supposedly was ‘over’ the films.  I know he would never have the power that Kevin Feige has at Marvel STUDIOS.  DC Entertainment is a small cog in a giant WB wheel.  How much pushback did Johns have over all the decisions for Justice League?  And if he did have some pushback, how ardently did he fight to keep the intregity of the DCEU?  Justice League theatrical was a Marvel version of a DCEU film.  schwarma = brunch.  Male falling into female’s boobs.  Secret identities exposed.  Etc, etc, etc.  Plus Nelson did not know what the story was within Action #1 1938, a now multi-million dollar comic which Henry Cavill held at the premiere of Man of Steel.  So it’s a short leap from Johns to know-nothing Nelson then onto more DCU ignorants over her.

Jon Berg.  What exactly did he do besides making sure Zack Snyder didn’t go over budget?  — which he didn’t.  (about $215M)  The 300 million was the sum total of Whedon’s reshoots, CGIing Cavill’s moustache and Danny Elfman’s banal score.  So how did Jon Berg help DC Fans get the film they were promised?  He didn’t.  He’s gone now.  Buh-bye!  (who did he know or what did he know over some bigwig in the WB in order to get the job?)

Speaking of Henry Cavill’s moustache.  Reportedly Paramount refused to allow Cavill to shave it due to contractual restraints while MI6 was still in production.  Technically it still is since Cruise broke his ankle – so Henry still has to wear the stache.  (Don’t get me started on how Tom Cruise has to be the prettiest in his films.  And how all the good actors get killed off.)   They tossed WB a $15M penalty if Cavill shaved.  If Kevin Tsujihara had any balls, he’d had slapped the WB lawyers on that immediately — to pay for it (instead of Cavill) after getting the price lowered.  Lord knows WB lawyers were always at the ready when the Siegel or Shuster estates wanted due process.

Whedon.  God forbid he still is attached to Batgirl, let alone any other DCEU product.  The fake feminist, womanizer went out of his way to downgrade and/or insult every female character in Justice League.  Wonder Woman,  Lois Lane, Mera, Iris West, Martha Kent, Cyborg’s mother, and Heggra (Steppenwolf’s mother).   How is that conducive of building a universe for fans?  MPAA has reported for over a decade that female viewership is the MAJORITY of film audiences!

As a writer, Whedon disappointed on several fronts.  In the initial scene,  Batman knows parademons feed (literally) off fear.  But through a good third of the movie, a Russian family, who are near a parademon nest, cower in their humble cottage and the parademons ignore them.  Apparently fear seasoned with borscht isn’t as palatable to parademons.   Fans had to endure the Russian family instead of seeing something more iconic within the 2 hour mandate.

Secret Identities.  Whedon still is in Marvel mode on this one.  Batman says ‘Alfred’ while in the presence of a criminal.  Sloppy Batman — more like sloppy Marvelesque Whedon.  Also Lois comes to the rescue during the Justice League fight to shout “Clark!” in front of a cop.

Iconic moments.  We saw the trailers.  WB used a lot of Zack Snyder scenes we DC fans were looking forward to, but never got to see in the actual film.  It’s one of the reasons I rushed home after first viewing Justice League to see how badly WB had bait and switched.   WB apparently thinks very little of their fan base.

There’s a scene in one trailer probably taking place during the Justice League fight with Superman; Cyborg warns a cop (played by Mark McClure, former Jimmy of Superman the Movie) he better move.   There’s a tank flying and landing nearby.  The tank was green.  Why would that matter?  What if Snyder gave us the iconic vehicle over Superman’s head just before he tossed that tank?   WB suits would not know the significance of that moment just as they are totally illiterate in the DC Universe.  They think they can make Marvel movies (in this case, 2 hour popcorn schlock when compared to previous DCEU films) with DC characters.    DC and Marvel are two different animals and you can’t use the same formula for both.  A formula should not be used AT ALL.

Tsujihara and the rest of the WB suits could have changed Justice League’s release date into 2018 (especially if they’re not doing MOS2) — but refused to do so.  Why?  Because then they wouldn’t get their bonuses in 2017.  Let’s hope they don’t get an extra penny after demolishing THE film they have wanted and planned for over a decade.

Will I go see another DCEU film?  Absolutely.  Aquaman.  It’s Mamoa.  Hopefully with Tsujihara’s contract up in March, 2018, Aquaman won’t be butchered by its release in November, 2018.

June, 2018 should be the release of Man of Steel 2 for Superman’s 80th anniversary.  Is Warner Brothers going to do nothing about that?  There was a second film being shot along with Justice League.  Amy Adams rented a house for her family in London for months.  The amount of scenes that Amy was involved in (including ones on the cutting room floor) probably didn’t warrant a move to England if the only film she was in was Justice League.  Also actors from Suicide Squad and Chris Pine were seen on set in London.  For which film?  Obviously not Justice League.

Henry Cavill at ACE Comic Con (December 8 thru 10th, 2017)  said they were working on MOS2.  Amy Adams also has made that statement.  Working as opposed to worked.  Meaning they are continuing to work on it.

2019 is Batman’s 80th anniversary.  Rumors are Ben Affleck is not being Batman in The Batman film.  He’s going to do Flashpoint though???  Affleck is a great Batman and Bruce Wayne.  I would love to see his take on the solo film.  He’s more than earned it.  Yes, he relinquished the director’s seat — but writing, producing, acting and directing for a character like Batman would be too much for anyone.  Also, seeing what Warner Brothers put Zack Snyder through couldn’t have been positive.

Can fans trust Warner Brothers to give us iconic DCEU films?  Too many cooks spoil the broth.  Apparently WB hasn’t heard that one.  But then how would they get their bonuses?  Tsujihara’s contract may not be renewed in March, 2018.  If Warner Brothers is purportedly a ‘director’s studio’ — they need to make sure it stays that way and with proof being demonstrated in their films.  Quit interfering.  Quit pulling unrealistic mandates out of your ass and realize what a gold mine you have with the DCEU.

How could WB redeem themselves if they wanted to?  (They probably don’t — taking their bonuses to the bank.)  THE Zack Snyder cut.  Before he left, Snyder submitted a 3.5 hour cut which Warner Brother executives deemed unwatchable.  Explain please.  What does unwatchable mean exactly?   Would a DC fan find it so?

Apparently WB is paying bloggers to report there is no Zack Snyder cut.  More fake news, Warner Brothers?  After the trailers you gave us, it wouldn’t surprise me.  BUT the sound guy and the cinematographer state there is one.  It may not have every single special effect done, but A LOT of the film is completed.  JunkieXL even did a score which had individual hero themes along with the previous Han Zimmer music.

I have seen unfinished extended cuts before.  The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension being one of them.  DC Fans are not unfamiliar with ‘unfinished’ cuts of films.  The Richard Donner Cut finally made it into the hands of fans while WB took in the money.  We have the internet now.  Things happen a lot faster.

Give fans, all fans, the Zack Snyder Cut.  If WB expects to make money with a Whedon extended cut . . . guess again.  Your logic has been faulty so far, WB suits.  Give the fans what they want!!!

Fans want to see Cyborg’s back story with his mother.  William DeFoe as Vulko in Atlantis.  Kevin Costner as the returning ‘ghost’ of Pa Kent encouraging Clark to accept both sides of himself.   Flash not worried about brunch and falling into Wonder Woman’s boobs (which was achieved using body doubles since the actors refused).   Batman being more of a detective than fishing for parademons.  The breakout of Lex Luthor from prison by Deathstroke.  Lois Lane investigating Star Labs rather than puff pieces — and being ‘thirsty’.  (Ugh, Whedon.)  The proposal — yep, there was one.  The possible iconic Superman lifting a tank over his head.  Green Lanterns showing up to talk to Batman.  Oh yea, and Darkseid being his dark self.

Zack Snyder created a DC Universe world(s).  Things came full circle or were pleasantly resolved with each film.  Unless we get the Zack Snyder cut, we will never see that fullness of story and history ever again.

#ReleaseTheSnyderCut  The petition on is now over 160,000 (even after routine email verification).  If you haven’t signed the petition and want to see what we were sold in the trailers, then do so now.  Fight the powers that be!

Fans of DC characters are ALL IN with the release of the Zack Snyder Cut!

Fanboy Bias Misinterps Latest 2017 SDCC JL Trailer

Note:  Thanks to CoolestClips4K for putting all the trailers together, most recent to first. Explore and Enjoy while reading this blogpost.

I know everyone has their biases, but while watching dozens of YouTube vids of reactions to the JL 2017 SDCC trailer – it just made me depressed. The twists and the turns and the complete ignorance of logic. Oy!

Bias clouds perception. Keep that in mind, fanboys. I’ll admit I am a total Superman fan, but I hope to show with logic and reality, where this trailer/film leads.

Justice League is the 4th film of the new DCEU. The Justice League has not formed yet. If you watched Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (it’s even in the title!), we see where the seeds of forming such an alliance came to light. Justice League (part 1, more about that later) is the fruition of that idea. It’s about the Justice League. Not crossovers with television shows. Get it!?

Leading off with a robbery or terrorist act by humans this trailer begins inside what appears to be a museum. School children are involved as if they are visiting. This could possibly be the Louvre where Diana works (see the Wonder Woman movie). However, the next segment shows London, so that is also a possibility. Showing Diana in action right away is riding the crest of the popularity of her movie. Smart!

“The world remains in mourning after the death of the Superman.” We see London Bridge with a huge black and white banner of the S-shield. Hope is now dead.

In Metropolis, Lois Lane is standing under an umbrella looking at the debris of the Superman statue. Yes, Lois Lane, people. We are looking over her shoulder. (We will also be looking over someone else’s shoulder later in the trailer. Coincidence? I think not.) Lois was in the previous trailer. She is the key. (Batman v Superman: DOJ reference) Another clue is we see a bundle of Daily Planet newspapers in the rain with the headline, WORLD WITHOUT HOPE.

The voiceover then says, “What we are seeing is a crime wave around the world!” Now why would that be? Superman is dead. Superman could fly anywhere in the world to save people. Hope died. Evil rejoices and parties. Batman doesn’t do global. He’s stayed mostly in Gotham taking care of his costumed crazies. Wonder Woman doesn’t go far either, at least not at this time or as quickly as Superman could.

There’s a mention of Arkham Asylum in the voiceover. “And where is the Gotham Bat? The bat vigilante has been a no show.” Okay, Bats is not taking care of worldwide business. The Arkham mention could mean he’s locked all his villains up (temporarily) while he goes off to do what? They’ve shown us this in the previous trailers. Bruce is going after the other ‘metas’. Like Arthur Curry (Aquaman) and Barry Allen (The Flash). It takes time to do this, especially when riding a horse to isolated fishing villages. Diana doesn’t appear to be involved with this quest. Perhaps she’s to hold down the fort for whatever happens ‘locally’? Maybe it is Diana who ‘discovers’ Cyborg (she has a voice over regarding him in a previous trailer).

In BvSDOJ, Bruce was forewarned via his vision/dream of a future where Superman goes rogue because of the death of Lois Lane. Now, Superman is dead. That future has changed. Bruce may have more than one directive. These are simultaneous rather than in any order of importance. 1) Keep Lois Lane alive since Bruce was told by a ‘future’ Flash that Lois is the key. If Lois is alive, there’s hope – meaning Superman. How? Jor-El in Man of Steel probably entrusted a whole Kryptonian shipload of information to Lois while he told her how to use the baby ship. Superman is resurrected in this movie. Does Lois help with that? There’s a reason Kal-El has all the Kryptonian DNA within him. (Can’t be losing all that. There’s gotta be a fail safe.) 2) Find the other metas to help fight what’s coming. In the ‘dream’ Bruce was alone fighting parademons and rogue Superman. And the Omega symbol is still there looming. Bruce references this in his talk with Diana at Clark’s burial in Smallville as to why he wants to find the others.

The other thing to notice in these scenes of Batman. He’s not looking over Gotham. He is standing over Metropolis and looking down on the Kryptonian ship. (which I call the Metro Fortress of Solitude. Clark needs to rise up and get that thing to the Arctic. Just sayin.) That ship holds secrets. It had the ability to create Doomsday – so resurrecting Kal-El should be no problem. Is this also where battle scenes take place later in the trailer? Just asking.

“They said the age of heroes would never come again.” – Diana

“It has to. We don’t have any more time.” – Bruce

Do you feel the urgency?

Themyscira!!! Familiar territory after seeing the Wonder Woman film. This the past. If we saw Antiope (Robin Wright) we’d know for sure. Both Connie Nielsen (Hippolyta) and Wright were scheduled to show up in JL. Flashback!

“Something is coming.” – Hippolyta

It seems we’re looking at the tower where Diana took the ‘Godslayer’ sword, but that is not present. What we do see is a Mother Box coming to life and a Boom Tube. Talk about excitement! Seeing a Boom Tube cinematically is a true first in live action! The Amazons surround the Mother Box which has been in a place of prominence within the room. They are armored up. And out drops – Steppenwolf. Get your motor runnin & head on out the highway, baby. Cause this movie is gonna Rock!

* Spoiler Alert * I was curious who was playing Darkseid’s Uncle and reconnaissance main man. It’s Ciaran Hinds. Oh yes, please! First David Thewlis in Wonder Woman, now Ciaran. Majorly on board no matter how much CGI.

We’ve seen an inkling of Steppenwolf in the Ultimate Cut of BvSDOJ – a scene called Communion with Lex Luther in the Kryptonian ship. 3 mother boxes, too.

The Electro-axe looks amazing as Steppenwolf wreaks destruction on worlds.

“No protectors here” – Steppenwolf voiceover on a scene of Aquaman swimming towards a Neptune statue. (BTW my son hoped this was a reference to Martian Manhunter. Unfortunately he has been replaced by Cyborg. In our world of technocracy, we can see how Cyborg is more relative at this time.)

Diana turns and looks on a street. Cyborg looking through a crashed in window.

“No Lanterns.” – Steppenwolf. LANTERNS mention! A first in this new DCEU. Lanterns exist. But apparently Earth presently isn’t being protected. What happened to the Lantern in this sector? Has Hal Jordan not met Abin Sur yet? (more about that later)

We see the Wayne boathouse. (When is he going to get that mansion fixed up?) Bruce is looking at a hologram of SuperMAN, not Supergirl. Ask body builders or weight lifters about legs and their proportions. Plus it is a hologram and we don’t know what perspective the camera is coming from. Plus Steppenwolf says —

“No Kryptonian.” Singular, not plural. If Supergirl had been around, it would have been plural. So apparently Steppenwolf (and Darkseid, for that matter) are taking the path of least resistance. Earth annihilation is easy peasy at the moment.

Apokolips is aware of Kryptonians and Lanterns and who they protect. Big wonderful DCU going on here!

Barry Allen using the speed force to bend a window until it shatters. Is that Iris West (Kiersey Clemons) sitting behind him?

“This world will fall like all the others.” – Steppenwolf wielding the Electro-Axe. Sounds pretty confident since he’s under the impression there are no protectors of Earth.

“One misses the days when one’s biggest concerns were exploding windup penquins.” – Alfred. In a confined space – a plane or at the boathouse? That gets a rise out of Bruce who has been watching a monitor/tv. After an invasion of Kryptonians that only a Superman could handle, now comes Steppenwolf and parademons – no Earthly meta can handle alone. This film will prove even with a team of metahumans, no matter how heroic, they still need that extra spark – a super spark.

We see parademons and Steppenwolf inside a ship. Either Apokoliptian or they have taken over the Kryptonian ship. Then Steppenwolf looks up at a red sky. DC Comics readers know that a red sky means a crisis. The sky is on fire making it a good environment for Apokoliptians.

“This is crazy. All said we’re gonna die.” – Aquaman 5 metahumans facing Steppenwolf and hordes of parademons. It’s always darkest before the dawn.

Batman taking off in the Batmobile.

Inside the Batcave, Barry (I think, please correct me if I’m wrong) says, “Each of us in some way has held back.” Diana leaping through a crack in a walkway.

Uniformed up, Diana tells the rest, “Don’t engage alone. We do this together.” This takes us back to what happened at the end of Wonder Woman. Steve Trevor and Diana both had to do things on their own.

The Flash speed forcing. Some peeps have spotted a second figure in this shot speculating it is the Reverse Flash. Too soon. We don’t even have all the of Justice League introduced yet. Not saying there couldn’t be references, but if there is a second person in the shot it could be –- If you had watched the JL Behind The Scenes featurette, there is a scene of Flash ‘standing still’ as a half naked Clark moves past him. Not saying it is the same shot in the trailer. But could be part of the same scene/scheme.

“It’s really cool you guys get ready to do battle and stuff, but I’ve never done battle. I’ve just pushed at some people and run away.” – The Flash

Barry is talking about the enormity of the learning curve here. To go from pushing and running to doing battle with war dogs from Apokolips. THAT is daunting!

Intro the Flying Fox. Cyborg reaches in to take control of it. “Relax, Alfred, I’ll take it from here.”

“Uh, do I know you?” – Alfred. This is another reason why I think Cyborg may have been discovered by Diana and not Bruce. In the previous trailer, Cyborg tells Bats he thought the Batman wasn’t real. If Bruce had recruited him, then Cyborg would know he was real and Alfred would know who he was. Diana in the other trailer does all the expo on Cyborg.

More Flying Fox action. Twirling Steppenwolf. Red streak – laser? Heat vision? Steppenwolf is not prone to use Omega beams.

The Flash running at night. Diana and Steppenwolf going at it. The Electro-Axe in Atlantis heading for Aquaman. Batman taking on a parademon face to face. A building exploding with SWAT teams out front. Diana doing her hit bracelets thing towards Steppenwolf. (She is the God Killer after all. New Gods. Old Gods. You name it.) Batman leaping with a batarang against a blood red sky.

While we see these scenes, here is the voiceover:

“Superman was a beacon to the world. He didn’t just save people. He made them see the best parts of themselves.” – Batman/Bruce Wayne. Bruce should know since that’s exactly what Superman did for Batman in BvSDOJ. Drug him out of that Frank Miller funk and showed him the light! Amen!

Wonder Woman and Aquaman look up. “Alright!” – Aquaman

Cyborg flies down in a building.

“I don’t recognize this world.” – Alfred

“We don’t have to recognize it. We just have to save it.” – Bruce

Tsunami coming down a street. Aquaman using the Trident to stop it.

Fire around a tower that has been hit by a Batmobile shell?. Batman swerves to miss it as parademons hang on. The red sky is prevalent and is reflected on the Batmobile.

At night in a city, we see the boots of Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Flash as Cyborg arrives. Then there is a full shot of them at the Superman Memorial with flowers and ballons behind them. As well as Metropolis police cars. Are they looking at Batman? Is he with someone else? This scene was also in the JL BTS featurette where Aquaman is twirling his Trident.

Amazons in full battle with the parademons. Diana running to capture her sword which is out of reach. The Flash runs by and tips it towards her. Next. Not sure if it’s the Flying Fox or some other vehicle/ship. Could be underwater. But it looks embryonic. Like a womb with a fire blast.  Birthing matrix??

Aquaman surfing a falling parademon through a building. Hair shake. Just a day’s work for the King of Atlantis. Awesome!

Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Commissioner Gordon on top of a building with the Bat Signal.

“How many of you are there?” – Commissioner Gordon

“Not enough.” – Batman

As seen in other trailers, the Batman Gordon relationship is alive and well.

“You really think that . . . “ Gordon turns to see the Flash. Barry looks around.

“Oh, wow, they just … they really just vanished. Huh. Oh. That’s rude.” The Flash speed forces out.

After some fade to black, we see a glass of liquor begin to vibrate. There are some faint booms. Twice. BvSDOJ fans will remember that Clark’s breaking the sound barrier had a similar pattern when he went to save Lois in the desert.

Alfred is working on a vehicle in the boathouse as a full moon shines above. He looks up. There is recognition in his expression. But there is surprise and ‘disbelief’ as well.

“He said you’d come. Now let’s . . . hope. . . you’re not too late.”

Some red in the lower corner of the frame. (No, it’s not the brown of a bomber jacket.) We’re peering over the shoulder of whomever it is. Seeing it from their perspective. Alfred lowers his gaze when he says hope as if reading the S-shield. People who think this is Hal Jordan seem to forget that.

This also tears apart the rumor that Supes would be showing up in his black and white suit while being mind whammied by Darkseid. (See how the ‘future’ was changed by the death of Superman in BvSDOJ above)

When we first saw the trailer, I asked my buds on Twitter if we could see something in Alfred’s glasses. The S-shield could be there if Henry Cavill (Superman) was standing beside the camera for Jeremy Irons (Alfred) to interact with. We would expect to see some lighting as well. Films aren’t made in the dark. Some peeps have said there is a S-shield in Alfred’s glasses. These are the folks who do the hard evidence and blowup clips and zoom in to see what’s there. Others see a light and say it’s green so it has to be Jordan.

Throughout this trailer, it has held Superman to the forefront. Scene after scene, despite the fact he is not before the camera. This is about the resurrection of Superman and the formation of the Justice League.

Who is the best combatant against Darkseid, Steppenwolf, and the parademons? Not Diana. Not Batman (see Morrison’s Batman RIP). Certainly not The Flash, Aquaman or Cyborg. SUPERMAN is the answer!

I’ve seen reaction vids of people saying they hope it’s not Superman showing up. * headdesk * That is pure bias against Superman. There’s no logic there. Go back to reading your Marvel Comics. (I know not all Marvel fans hate Superman, but one guy admittedly did.) They also said Joss Whedon had taken over the entire film. So any quips spoken in the film (and this trailer) – that was Whedon. Obviously they didn’t listen to what Ray Fisher (Cyborg) wearing a I love ZS shirt at the JL 2017 SDCC panel had to say. They had finished the CGI and other scenes already.

Besides Geoff Johns trumps Joss Whedon in the DCEU any day, fanboys.  Zack Snyder’s vision carries on throughout this universe.

This film is not about Green Lantern. He couldn’t save the day even if he did show up. You have to have Superman to defeat Apokoliptians. That’s why Darkseid will be the big bad in Justice League part 2. Justice League will be in full force by that time.

The Death of Superman story was in BvSDOJ. They went there. The rest of that story is in Justice League. Writers of Justice League stories have said: Superman has to be taken out in order for the rest of the team to shine because he could literally take care of every threat. The same is true for this film. Superman is out/’dead’ so we can see how the Justice League was formed and performs as a team without Superman . . . for a while. But the Justice League isn’t the Justice League without Superman.

About Hal Jordan . . . do I think Green Lantern is going to be in this film. YES! It’s not the Justice League without him. Unite the Seven. Unite the League. And now the trailers are saying ALL IN.

If fanboys had paid attention to the DCEU and its players, they would have known about the Hal misses Kal exchange on instagram. A Green Lantern shirt wearing person sent that message to Cavill. Later Gadot and Affleck laughed. And after the trailer there was a meme going around with a snapshot of a certain film which featured ‘Hal’ and ‘Kal’ with furrowed brows over the “No Lanterns. No Kryptonian” line from the trailer.

Okay, fanboys, get your Lois Lane heels on and get to investigating. You can’t diagnose a trailer correctly without much information and a shitload of bias.

Fanboys are probably thinking I’m bias because I’m a Superman fan. Yep, but there’s more to it than that. Don’t dismiss reality. This DCEU started with Superman. He is the foundation of the DCU, always has been, always will be. He is the beacon of hope. He is who every other hero looks up to. He inspires so people will aspire to be better.

DCEU has a plethora of films coming out. LONG TERM PLANS which do not turn on a dime because some fans have a gripe. This is business. People sitting in conference rooms planning out an entire universe, possibly universes!!! There are contracts involved. People are showing up at set sites which makes you go hmmmm. Keep up with the info!

Aquaman’s film date was moved from June to November, 2018. Why? Oh, I don’t know. * whistling * Maybe because June, 2018 is the 80th anniversary of a character who started it all. MOS2 or whatever they are calling it has to come out in June, 2018. Or their universe becomes invalid.

Right now they can’t even hint of it before Justice League because at present Superman is dead in the DCEU. But anyone worth their superhero fan status knows that Superman is resurrected and comes back bigger than ever.

So get ready to spend some money, fanboys. Keep the faith. Believe! After Justice League, Superman will show more of his stuff off in June, 2018. Why do I think that? Back before BvSDOJ was announced. MOS2 was slated for 2018. Then it got “taken off the list.” Not because it was canceled but because of what they are doing within the DCEU storyline. In 2015, CEO of Warner Brothers Kevin Tsujihara said there would be another Superman stand alone film. Do the research!

These films are interconnected. Some of them are even filmed at the same time. Batman in Suicide Squad while also in BvSDOJ. The Flash had cameos in Suicide Squad and BvSDOJ. Aquaman cameo in BvSDOJ. Wonder Woman in BvSDOJ and then Wonder Woman.

Like the Death of Superman in the comics, Superman was taken away from the books for a period so his come back would have the world rejoicing. They’re doing the same thing with the trailers and publicity for Justice League. Get ready for a MOS2 clip at the end of Justice League people!

There are many surprises in store for Justice League. Just follow who was in London during filming.

Kudos to Vegan Hero, who, in my opinion, had one of the best reaction videos. They reacted! Animated. Not silent. No talk over. Picked up a lot of things on first look. Smart. You can see it here.

There will be one more trailer before Justice League in November. Can’t wait.

PS The moustache fiasco – just more fake news in my opinion. Think about it. I don’t care who Tom Cruise is. Warner Brothers is not going to spend millions of dollars taking off a moustache using CGI when all Cavill has to do is shave and have MI6 give him a fake one. Remember these film productions are overseen by bean counters. Justice League has to make a profit. MI6 will just have to take the hit and have Cavill be prettier than Cruise. bwahahahha

You won’t be seeing this guy anytime soon if at all ever.

In its quest to show Superman is unrelatable to a modern audience, DC Entertainment continues tearing the character apart. And you thought the new 52 was bad? DCYOU is Superman destruction in hyperdrive.

Since Superman is known in every HOUSEHOLD around the globe, the DCYOU version would be unrecognizable to the ‘man on the street’ (that would include males from 14 to 34 years old, DC Entertainment, just saying).

Anyone who was born since 1938 (and some folks before) knows these aspects of Superman:

THE CAPE: His indestructible baby blanket cape has ripped. Yes, an indestructible thing ripped. Why did it rip? So he can protect his now powerless hands.

S-SHIELD: Yes, he has one. BUT, in the new 52 his S-shield formulated his majestic collared, biological Kryptonian armor. (Because y’know, Martha Kent wasn’t worthy enough to even assist in making one.) In the DCYOU, the S-shield apparently only had enough power to create jeans, t-shirt, and workboots before it was taken away by the Fortress of Solitude. (Don’t worry the Fortress of Solitude was taken away, too.) Now he apparently gets his S t-shirts from Target/Walmart/K-Mart or Superheroes Discount. See more information regarding the supersuit under POWERS.

SPITCURL: Gone since the new 52 along with the red trunks.  Superman always had great hair, but not anymore.  He’s got a buzzcut which he does not use his heat vision to trim.

FLYING: Yes, I know Richard Donner proved a man could fly but DC Entertainment seems determined to prove that premise wrong. ‘Superman’ no longer flies or leaps tall buildings. His addiction to a new power has rendered him powerless. Yes DCYOU Superman has an addictive personality now. His strong will died at the birth of the new 52.

POWERS: He has none. Nope, not even electrical powers. His most important power was using his heart first to make decisions but that was sacrificed in the new 52.  His powerlessness makes him dependent on Batman to pick him up naked (don’t know what happened to indestructible cape) so Alfred could make him new costumeS (plural). (Alfred is worthy, Martha Kent is not.)

CLARK KENT: Nope. He’s currently without identity. He’s a man without a name. Clark Kent was a non-entity in the new 52. Superman was/is a battling alien without human tethers. And Clark Kent ‘died’ in Batman/Superman Annual 2. As to Jonathan and Martha Kent, they died. (no human tethers) The new 52 Superman acted as if he didn’t learn anything during his 18 years with them. Superman had to bury them twice. First, their UNTIMELY deaths by 5th dimensional character, Lord Vyndyktvx and the second, when they were zombies via the Ultrahumanite.

DAILY PLANET: Clark left the Daily Planet after he started dating Wonder Woman. (Remember, no human tethers). Supposedly started a blog with Cat Grant where he wrote less than 3 articles. Geoff Johns (Richard Donner’s former assistance and now Chief Creative Office for DCE) tried to bring Clark back to the DP, but that was just a blip on the radar which immediately faded for the DCYOU.

METROPOLIS: Not so much. Not when he has to hang with the Justice League (remember, no human tethers). DCYOU Superman is now spreading his vigilantism to Gotham, too. He can’t fly so I guess the rest of the world that can’t be reached by a motorcycle full of gas is safe.

LOIS LANE: Is seen ever so slightly more than Clark Kent, but she is restricted by so many laws. DC Entertainment’s law of supers with supers – she’s not a super so she can’t be with Clark/Superman. (But if he’s powerless & more or less nameless how can he still be dating Wonder Woman? It’s not Lois, so it’s okay to break the rule.) Lois is dating another guy who is rarely seen and makes Superman so despondent. (Clark hasn’t liked any kind of challenge since the new 52 began.) The reason for the boyfriend, 5 years of story that readers have never seen so Superman could date Wonder Woman. Recently Peter Tomasi writer (and also an editor at DCE) has Wonder Woman wanting to be a reporter along side Clark. Then there’s the anyone-but-Lois law fans are VERY familiar with. Lois Lane is not allowed to be in Action Comics (yes, the book that launched everything and the superhero genre, too) since Greg Pak took over (don’t blame Greg, it’s editorial’s fault). Pak has Lana Lang filling the pages of Action. With DCYOU he will not only be adding Jimmy Olsen but a new female character with the initials LL (not Lois, remember the law) who will be a friend to Superman and play an important role. Lois will appear in the Superman book, written by newcomer Gene Luen Yang, but she’s been introduced in the DCYOU as a backstabbing betrayer of Superman’s dual identity (rarely seen) which makes him lose everything. Previous to all this, DCE actually had a Lois Lane solo book but deemed it not worthy of a PR team to promote it. So when we say Lois is a non-entity, we mean DCE is getting rid of her. How do you introduce a beloved character as the purveyor of so much destruction when she has always been THE ONE to believe in the Man of Steel? How does DCE turn that around? They don’t. They haven’t. And they obviously don’t want to.

FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE: Gone. Recently rebuilt because Wonder Woman imploded the Phantom Zone. The FOS is running on all cylinders brainwise. It recognizes this ‘new’ Superman is a phony and takes the indestructible cape (most of it) and the biological S-shield. DCE says the FOS made Superman’s life too easy and too comfortable. This is reminiscent of their statements regarding Lois Lane at the new 52 launch. She was a beautiful trophy wife who made Superman’s life perfect. So now he has a beautiful trophy super girlfriend – what’s the difference? (not Lois so is okay) And Superman’s life is never perfect if you actually deal with his dual identity and his love of humanity, but DCE hasn’t wanted to go there.

Introducing DCYOU Superman:  He rides a Tossr motorcycle which he uses as a weapon while wearing ripped cape remnants on his hands. Wears an S t-shirt, jeans and workboots he bought at the store. He’s basically a vigilante without the Superman status. He could be a nutjob who has convinced himself he’s Superman. But then wouldn’t he be wrapping a red blanket around his neck and jumping off garage roofs? So if you want your Superman to be a Marvel character, this is the guy for you. (Marvel would probably respect the character more than DC Entertainment has the last 5 years.) Where’d he get the motorcycle – he’s the Man of Steal now.

If you’re already a Superman fan, don’t worry this character is not meant for you. DCE is looking for future readers. (much like their new reader hunt. Loyal readers were 98%) Future readers are children, right? WRONG. Kids get the real Superman – all the things DCE has taken from him and the red trunks, too. So what are future readers? An early online survey of the new 52 in 2011 revealed that 23% of their readership was female. That would be about 1 out of 4 readers. DCE execs were wondering why women were more comfortable with online surveys. Even this small percentage of females was too large for the target audience DCE announced they were going for – 14 to 34 year old males. A few years later a survey revealed that their audience was 47% female. Doubled. (almost female to male equality) This occurred when DCE was still shooting for that male target audience. DCE gave 18 million dollars to a company who had a target audience of 18 to 34 year old males so they could make videos for them. DCE has acknowledged their audience has changed but do they like that idea? Perhaps their target audience is allergic to online surveys – is that what DCE wants everyone to believe? (even at 53 to 67% responses from males) Or is it more likely, especially with Superman’s abysmal order numbers, males a running away in droves to await the next lightswitch crisis before they spend their money. And DCE has made their Superman as un-female friendly as possible. New 52 superdouche, anyone?

Future readers appear to be the same ole target audience they’ve been focusing on. But blaming 14 to 34 year old males who don’t read comics yet does them a disservice. How do DCE execs know what these potential readers want? How did they know what the new readers (a mere 2%) wanted? They didn’t. It was what the DCE executives wanted. So Nielsen and Diane Nelson can survey till they are blue in the face if the boyz at the top don’t want Superman to rise from the ashes of his order numbers. A phenomenon DCE execs created.

How much better would Superman stories/orders be if DCE execs even considered males and females like all the things they have taken away from the character. Superman’s mythology.

DCYOU/Divergence is breaking the chains of Superman’s mythology.  So DCYOU Superman is Superman unhinged – not really Superman in any reality.

Fans do not care if DC Entertainment doesn’t like or understand Superman. At this point, it appears DCE execs/editorial despise the character and all he means to his fans. As businessmen (yea, they are mostly males), they need to buck up and give the people what they want. Meaning make some money with this character without these ridiculous restrictions on his mythology.  Isn’t that what business is about?  Making money.  Does Lee/Harras/Didio want to be known as the destroyers of Superman? We shall see, won’t we.

Remember the rule: IF you don’t like it, don’t buy it. The only way to change things is to take a stand and let your voice be heard. Vote with your purchases (or lack thereof).

Let’s not allow the real Superman to go down without a fight or protest from his FANS!

P.S.  Don’t worry Batman fans, your hero gets to keep everything.  He’s still the billionaire playboy with a manor, a batcave, batmobile, batplane, etc., utility belt, cowl, Alfred, 5 Robins, and still fighting in Gotham City,  Plus Joker is immortal and Batman becomes a god in the Darkseid War.  No regressions for him.  Is it any wonder Batman sells 200 to 400% more books than any Superman book?  He gets to keep ALL of his mythology plus given even more added abilities.

“All is not what it seems.”
Skew your view.
I once was blind, but now I see.
Wake UP!

These panels (click to enlarge) are from Batman/Superman #18 and were the guidestones to a revelation.

The fauxmance (monikered by Christine of G2Factor) is a hoax.

I’ll wait until the tittering and the sad “oh, you poor deluded thing” faces subside. Hear me out.

I’ve been wrong before and I’m not afraid to be wrong again. Dangerous, right?

Why would the fauxmance be a hoax?

Because the new 52 is the anti-life equation. Hey, just enjoy the ride.

Here is the anti-life equation (pre-52):

loneliness + alienation + fear + despair + self-worth
÷ mockery ÷ condemnation ÷ misunderstanding
× guilt × shame × failure × judgment
n=y where y=hope and n=folly,
love=lies, life=death, self=dark side

Isn’t that what our heroes and we readers have been living through the past three plus years?

How would that happen? It has to do with the timeline of the new 52. How the stories were presented.

First, Action Comics occurred 6 months before Justilce League #1 in the stories.
Second, Justice League #1-6, occurred five years before all the other #1s (which includes Superman #1)
Superman books and Justice League were the only books to have a five year gap. Why? To pull off the scam. The hoax. The ruse.

In the first six books of Justice League, we have the ‘formation’ of the team and their first battle is with Darkseid. Justice League War, the animation, is loosely based on this. Did Darkseid truly lose that battle, especially since the other #1 book heroes weren’t quite what they once were pre-52. Dark-dark-dark, gritty, cosmic and epic. No hope. Battle-battle-battle.

One thing different in the new 52 is Cyborg being on the Justice League. He now has Apokoliptian technology. Why? So he can boom tube the team around? How’s that every 1000th trip or so landing on Apokolips working for everybody? So Cyborg either consciously or unconsciously has a connection to Darkseid. Victor has global surveillance capabilities. Talk about no privacy! And as every Superman fan knows, Clark has secrets (dual identities and lives).

I’m a Superman fan. And part of being fans of something is that we get into this frame of mind sometimes thinking that the-powers-that-be just don’t know what they are doing. And if TPTB are very clever, they prove us wrong. I have commented that the new 52 is not very clever – but if they can pull off this hoax and turn things around, I’ll give them a nod to their cleverness. And MAYBE consider forgiving them. Or I could be just giving them more credit than they deserve. Time will tell.

So if Darkseid didn’t lose the intellectual/emotional battle and Cyborg can be used as an Apokoliptian pawn, then how are our heroes ever going to protect the ones they love? By making the world think that the Justice League is their only life. In Superman’s case, battling alien, no human tethers, dead human parents, etc.

The five year gap is an insurance policy, a safety net, especially in the Superman books. Once the flagship character of the DCU, his stories are now tied to the new flagship, Justice League. And to be quite frank, the new 52 Justice League flagship is like the Exxon Valdez. There have been delays in getting events to occur probably due to creators leaving midvoyage, books being canceled and Trinity War having eighteen months of hype which produced a fizzle into Forever Evil. Gee, just what readers and heroes under the anti-life equation needed, more evil. This effected readership greatly. Fans have left in droves. Action Comics is now under the 40,000 watermark AGAIN! Time for all to be revealed.

Sometime during the five year gap (between JL 6 & 7) someone came up with a plan (probably Bats) so the Justice League could still have secrets from the world and Darkseid (via Cyborg). Superman has always been on Darkseid’s radar. In JL 5 years previous, he is captured by DeSaad to make a clone army to find Darkseid’s daughter (giant plotline nugget just dropped?? Doubt it.) Earth 2 Superman in the new 52 also suffered clonng at the hands of DeSaad and recently sacrificed himself to save the world. (Earth 2 Superman was the better Superman in the new 52 even though we didn’t get to see him much.)

Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor’s relationship (one of the best things about Justice League) was very public. Clark likes his private life secret. So in order to protect the ones they love and to convince the world they only have lives being superheroes, the fauxmance was created.

Action #0 which came out a month after JL#12 in real time but occurred before Action #1 in storytime, has Clark Kent in love with Lois Lane’s writing and she admires his blog. Lois still gets to name Superman. General Lane knows there’s something going on with those two even if it’s a deep admiration thang. Readers don’t know what happened in the five year gap.  I have always contended TPTB would never be able to convince anyone that the fauxmance was real if there was ever a hint of Superman/Clark and Lois Lane’s relationship. Thus the safety net.

In the Justice League War animation, reviewers said the fauxmance sounded forced, and it read like that in the books as well. Let’s investigate.

Wonder Woman is sitting atop the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC, USA’s Capitol. Why? Because it’s Grecian architecture? It is one of the most technologically protected spots on the Earth. VERY PUBLIC. Superman joins her and they have this conversation about loneliness and secrets and protecting people. She’s just dumped her boyfriend, Steve Trevor, for the second time after he saved the Justice League’s ass from David Graves and his lesser gods. (whatever happened to that guy?) And she also fires him as the Justice League liaison minutes before sitting on the memorial. Perhaps the reason this not-so-romantic conversation seemed so forced is because Superman and Wonder Woman are just bad actors. The big question remains why were they doing this? Editorial mandate only? There had to be some story value especially with a huge gaping hole of five years involved.

another identity
In Action 10 which could have occurred before this scene since it it was in the previous 5 year timeline, it was revealed Clark was a reporter – Cyborg and Wonder Woman were present.

back to JL12

secrets from everyone

So if Superman’s secret identity was revealed in the five years previously, then who benefited from knowing he was Clark Kent that night he was on top of the Lincoln Memorial? Who needed to know he had to keep secrets and he was lonely? Clark quit the Daily Planet shortly after this. Was it to protect Lois? And Cat Grant came up with the idea of the blog which Clark rarely wrote for – was it to protect her also? If he was only identified as Superman, what purpose would that serve? It was a ruse to keep Darkseid off the scent of his true life. Plus by playing the loneliness, alienation and fear card, Darkseid would think his anti-life equation was working perfectly. Wonder Woman and the fauxmance are just a decoy in order to protect Lois and Superman’s life as Clark Kent.

In Action 12, a must for any Superman fan, we see how Clark’s original timeline went. He left the Kents alive in Smallville to join the Daily Planet (not the Daily Star) in Metropolis. He meets Lois Lane. This book came out the same month as JL12 and is in the five years previous timeline.

See how he fights the parademons with the Justice League and then marries Lois Lane. This all happened before Lord Vyndyktvx changed everything. Before Lord V killed his parents, before Clark ended up at the Daily Star, and before the fauxmance/hoax may or may not have happened.

In Justice League International Annual #1 which also came out the same DAY as JL12 and was in the ‘present’ timeline, we get to see Booster Gold react to the fauxmance the same way we did.

Booster from the Future told present day Booster, Superman and Wonder Woman needed to be stopped. Yes, please. The fauxmance was on all the monitors/live cams at JLI headquarters so it was a very public display. Clark is a very private person so had he changed so much in the new 52? DCE kept trying to sell (shove into any one of our orifices) the fauxmance idea. Superman didn’t act like Superman. His strong will seemed to have disappeared. Why? He didn’t know who he was half the time. Didn’t know his own mind and heart as he was constantly bombarded with villains who attacked emotionally and psychologically. He also had multiple timelines, alternate realities, visited alternate universes. No reader could truly get a bead on the character or who he was. And there was the abyss of the five year gap – missing stories, missing character building, etc.

I asked my cohost of G2Factor’s HARDCORE if all the fauxmance snoggings were public. Tej researched and found the answer was YES. There has been no private kissy kissy. What does this mean? The fauxmance is a sham. It is for the world’s and Darkseid’s benefit. Readers have been punk’d royally by DC editorial.

Lois didn’t lie about the secret romance.

We’ve seen Lois talk about the other side of the moon before in the new 52. Superman Annual #2, drawn by Dan Jurgens. “His cape has kept me warm on the dark side of the moon.” Is there Clois hanky panky going on the far side of the moon out of the detection of Cyborg and Darkseid? Note: this also was the issue fans saw Superman hold Lois Lane in his arms for the FIRST TIME. (Thanks again to Tej for the research.)

darkside of moon

Another thing, if Clark and Lois can keep it secret from Batman, then Cyborg and Darkseid haven’t got a chance.

secret from bats

The Kandorians or whomever is controlling the Kandorians obviously believed the fauxmance hype. That’s why they shot Batman. Kara didn’t even know & stil doesn’t since Lois tried to cover up the secret romance while they were taking the ‘bullet’ out of Bruce.

Batman/Superman 18 also held another first. Superman screaming Lois Lane’s name as he tries to save her. A monumental moment for fans.

Next time you pick up a Superman story in the new 52, keep this in the back of your mind. The Superman/Wonder Woman ‘romantic’ relationship is a hoax. Some of it will start to make sense.

I would encourage Clois fans to post on tumblr and/or twitter examples of the new 52 secret romance, because they are out there. Too many to show in this particular blogpost.

One thing bothers me. Wonder Woman may be starting to believe the lie. I say that because what would make Brian Azzarello pitch for Wonder Woman after he heard what DC editorial was going to do to her character. Wonder Woman has been a train wreck in the new 52 (less so in Azz’s book). But there are examples that DC editorial may be contemplating a giant continuous catfight. Citing Justice League 13 “It was a kiss, not a commitment,” said by Superman. Also, Wonder Woman’s perspective boxes during the Zod & Faora fight in the fauxmance book. “After the last battle.” Even in Throne of Atlantis which is loosely based on the Justice League arc of the same name. Lois Lane is saved by Wonder Woman (never happened in the books) and she says, “I wouldn’t want to be on her bad side.” Let’s hope things have changed and we won’t get an insipid catfight.

This summer is the Darkseid War. Will the veil be lifted and all revealed?

Meanwhile I’m sitting in my happy space with hope – and that’s all a Superman fan requires. Hope.

Don’t stop believing.

Besides . . . Convergence!

Superman 26: More Beginning of the End?

(Click on the pics if you need to enlarge them)

First let me state, IMO, Scott Lobdell needs to be immediately removed from writing Superman.  I don’t think he understands females very well.  Or perhaps it is editorial that doesn’t and he’s just getting the writer’s cred.  There may have been sexual harassers or other despicables writing Superman previously, but Lobdell has been publicly outted and that is horrible for the character and bad for business.  Readers, especially female readers, won’t be comfortable in purchasing any Superman story.

(the title – think Steve Martin)

So it’s been a while . .  .

Superman’s story still seems to be a jumble in the new 52.  It’s never been constructed, more like chimps tossing caca against their cage & laughing hysterically at how clever they are.

Scott Snyder’s Superman Unchained is the exception but it’s not truly in new 52 continuity.  It is very much the Superman mythology we know except Clark’s wearing Kryptonian armor (with a collar to look more majestic (Jim Lee is drawing)) and he’s blogging instead of being a reporter for the Daily Planet.  This week we found out that Snyder may not be on the book very long.  This was a story he wanted to tell if he only got the chance to tell one Superman story.  We thank him for that.  At least we have this story which totally GETS what Superman means to people, who he is as a character, and how he relates to Earth being an alien raised in Kansas.

Plus there’s the added bonus, Snyder has said he will not be addressing the fauxmance in his book.  Thank you!

The timeline from what we’ve been privy to at this time – Superman Unchained #3 in August, skips September for Villains month, and then there will be six more issues, running from October to March.  The Forever Evil DCE wide story arc runs during this time period also.  Coincidence?  Perhaps not.  What do you follow with after the villains have taken over especially in superhero books?  The heroes win.  Forever is about six months in comic books.

Some real surprises this week from strange sources:  Superman Annual #2 by Scott Lobdell and Injustice: Gods Amongst Us #30 by Tom Taylor.  Lobdell wrote a solid story about Lois Lane investigating and the narration boxes were from her point of view.  Yes, I’m waiting for you to digest that.  Proof positive, he can actually write or he may have been influenced by Superman vet, artist and writer Dan Jurgens who gave us some stunning Superman and Lois scenes.  Lois is dying (of course she is since DCE has only killed her off five time previously in their universe) and she is now involved in the Psi War arc besides being Jon and Kon’s mom.  She is now one of the 20.  Yea, Lobdell has a fascination with these number stories.

Taylor redeemed himself in I:GAU #30 by writing the Superman we all know and love.  Unfortunately, fans are very well aware that both of these writers will go back to giving us the crap we refuse to buy because that’s what the DCE is all about.

Case in point:  Didio said at the Boston Comic Con that he didn’t want to bring back fan favorite characters unless it’s done naturally.  (Yea, light switch the freaking fauxmance and shove it down our throats, hypocrite.)  This was an answer to a Stephanie Brown question.  Yes, I hear the resounding, “ohhhhh” across the cognitive airwaves.  So I guess Stephanie Brown is a mushroom now, cause she hasn’t seen the light of day for two years and the new 52 is basically shit – so yea, in order to have her grow naturally, somebody is going to have to go into a cave (obviously) and pluck her into existence!

BTW, if you’re ever in the presence of Dan Didio – just say the word ICON and see if he flinches.  Make sure you say it as if you’re not calling him an icon.  Because he’s not.  He’s expendable.  Icons are not expendable.

Recently I realized Action Comics has not mentioned the fauxmance even when Lobdell is writing it.  I’m wondering if it ever will.  After Lobdell’s run (23 & 24), Greg Pak takes over and he’s writing young new 52 Superman (the Bruce Springsteen blue jeaned guy).  This happens while Lobdell takes Superman, Supergirl, and Superboy back to Krypton with H’El.

Lobdell has said he’s writing something that’s never been done before at any of the publishing houses.  So my guess is – he’s going to write the Supers out of existence – it is Forever Evil after all.  I say this because in a recent interview, he talked about using Parasite to suck the energy (psionic) out of Lois Lane (Superman Annual 2).   Could part of Lobdell’s story be how the humans manage without their ‘saviors’ during Forever Evil?  If we see how badass Lois Lane is without a Superman to save her, will the Silver Age be washed from people’s minds?  Hope so.  This super douchery the new 52 Superman has been doing is irritating as hell – especially in this day and age.

Plus, Lobdell is the one who made Lois Jon’s mother and Kon’s mother x 2.  Superboy 22 was to have the boys duking it out, but that story was skipped (along with the solicit and cover).  Justin Jordan walked away from Superboy so maybe he didn’t want to write a book that wasn’t about the character especially if the character was written out of existence?

Dallying in some wishful thinking here . . . so Lois (or her connection) may be the key to getting the Supers back.  She has psionic powers now – and we do know that Harvest went back in time to get samples of Superman’s and Lois’ DNA for Jon (or was it Kon?) – what if he got the Lois sample during this time period?  That would explain Kon’s psionic powers.  In Superboy 22, Kon was supposed to feel a connection to Lois Lane, but we didn’t get to see that part of the story.  Maybe saved for another time? Also, in one of the JL books, Superman has a hissy fit when he finds out Doctor Psycho was in Kahndaq – previously Doctor Psycho and Superboy had teamed up in his book.

The fauxmance book begins in October the same time as the Forever Evil arc starts.  Coincidence?  Nahhh.  During SDCC this year, the romance was majorly down played and it was said it was going to be all action since apparently the power twins get cockblocked by the evil villains.  Ahhh, poor babies.  (bwahahahahahahahaha)   BUT Tony Daniel apparently didn’t get the memo for the Boston Comic Con and he said they were ‘hot’ and ‘sexy’ – that’s the reason they’re together, right?  That’s what the whole match (dot) com thing said – it was all about their eugenics and how they never would give a human a passing glance.  Humans aren’t worthy.  August 22nd, 2012 will be burned in my brain forever as the beginning of the viral perversion of Superman and his mythos.  Way to celebrate the 75th anniversary, asswipes.

I still think it’s Didio’s way of knocking out the Superman and Wonder Woman mythologies so his precious Batman can reign supreme.  Destroy the other parts of the Trinity and leave Batman to rule the DCU.  Watch his master plan unfold, minions.  (Maybe we should start calling him, Iconkiller)

So what will be happening in Action during Forever Evil, Pak (as I mentioned before) is returning to the early days of Superman in Metropolis.  (At least one issue will be crossover for Batman Zero Year – Batman must infiltrate everything, don’t ya know)  Could he be laying a foundation for the 4 to 5 year gap?  Greg keeps hinting at exploring Superman’s relationship to one of his cast members.  Wishful thinking again – what if it IS Lois?  With Superman back in Krypton in the Superbooks, then exploring his connection to Lois just makes sense.  Now, I know the fauxmance book starts just before this but that cannot last forever especially if they’re downplaying the hentai aspect.   Is this when we see the buildup of Superman, Lois Lane, and the true mythology?   Not expecting a damn thing because the DCE has ripped my heart out and stomped it too many times already – and that is not conducive for me spending money on them – I’m not a masochist or stupid.

I’m truly dreading this evilness taking over comic books (both off panel and on).   Even Adventures of Superman (which you SHOULD be reading) gave us a preview of how evil works in AOS #15.   It was a well constructed story.  But I don’t like feeling that way after reading a comic book, especially a superhero comic book.  Yes, HERO!  Meaning good, defeating evil, etc.  Great thing about AOS, lots of one shots in these weekly chapters.  BUY IT!

Smallville Season 11 has always been an oasis for Superman fans.  Superman done right.  The only time we got an inkling of it being ‘damaged’ by the East Coast authority —  Didio threw a tantrum about Bryan Q. Miller using Stephanie Brown (he wrote Batgirl with Stephanie previous to the new 52) – trashing Bryan in an interview when it was obvious West Coast had approved it.  But Didio absolutely despises the character, poor little mushroom.   So a hair color and name change later – we got Barbara Gordon – or as we fondly call her, StephBabs.  She’s an icon!  *snicker*

To continue, Bryan is currently writing an episode called OLYMPUS featuring Diana and Steve Trevor.  If you want to read how a story stays true to both the Superman and the Wonder Woman mythologies, then this is the book for you.  It’s a digital-first so it’s in weekly chapters.  We even get Clark Kent reporting.  *fans reader after they faint*  Compilation prints come out 2nd week of the month now.

Some have suggested since Miller has a comic book and television show background, he should be writing a Wonder Woman television series.  (But he can’t give up Smallville Season ## — THAT would be totally douche.)

So while the new 52 (except Unchained) goes to hell (H’El) literally, we still have Superman Unchained (except in September), Adventures of Superman, Smallville Season 11 – and we’ll keep an eye on Batman/Superman and Action Comics.  But the fauxmance (that which shall not be named) book is ipecac to me.  I see that shit and I puke!  Not a masochist . . . or a bulimic.

Is there hope?  Pockets of it, yes.  Will we see a brighter future for Superman stories – time will tell.  It’s all in the execution and whether or not the prevailing mindset remains in tearing down heroes’ mythologies, inner cores, and what has kept them popular for over seven decades.  MAYBE March will be the turning point.  But then it’s DCE/DC Comics – undermining icons since 2011, err. . . 2002.

A word regarding Brian Azzarello:  Recently at Boston Con, he appeared not ‘happy’ about Didio presiding over the DCU panel.  Brian, as you may recall, found out what DCE/Didio was going to do with Wonder Woman in the new 52.  (Can you say arm appendage for Superman? – which makes him look douche, too.)  What he heard made him realize it would destroy the character so on the spot he made a pitch for the Amazon.  Superman does not appear in the Wonder Woman book – as Brian does not see that relationship (fauxmance) the same way DCE does.  Didio obviously is very well aware of it since Brian pitched his idea & never included Superman.  So why the smarmy cover-over at Boston Con?  There was no subtext, Didio, Azzarello was pretty direct.  He doesn’t like the fauxmance – and guess why, because he knows like Johns knows, what it does to the characters.  That’s right, Didio, the characters – and it’s worse for the icons and their mythologies.   Except Batman gets to keep everything, right? – and probably will after Didio is done with the rest of the Trinity.

So kudos to Azzarello!  Stay just the way you are.

Confessions of a Superman Fan . . .

As a Superman fan, what am I afraid of?

I fear we will never see the Lois and Clark romance in the new 52.  DC Entertainment has literally left out 5 years of story about this mythic couple.  For what?  So Superman can boff Wonder Woman?

It’s like getting one of those alerts when your television goes blank.  Due to technical difficulties . . .  yea, like DC Entertainment has no heart or soul.  A mere technicality, right?  And they won’t allow Superman to have any heart or soul either.  It’s all physical and super with none of what truly is Superman’s strength.

How long are they going to continue this battling alien and ONLY this battling alien crap?

Does DC Entertainment think that I’ll start liking Wonder Woman because she’s screwing Superman?  Uh, sorry.  I hate her for that.  Before she was a non-entity to me, now I seeth every time I see a picture of her.  Oh don’t worry.   I instantly hit purple rage when I see or hear Didio, Lee, Harras, Johns, etc spout their bullshit.  I am fair.

Sorry, dudes, but I’m not going to like Wonder Woman because .  .  . I’ve never really thought much of her.  She’s not dating Steve Trevor – I did enjoy her when she was in Justice League and seeing that relationship start to unfold, however temporarily it lasted.  I admit part of that was because if she was with Trevor, she couldn’t be with Superman.  I’ve read that story about her wanting to be with married Superman and marrying him in an alternate reality (while in continuity) and having his kid while he pined for Lois.  That was so total bullshit.  First of all Diana would have more honor and dignity than to do that.

Seems like neither Superman or Diana have dignity anymore.  They aren’t true to themselves let alone to anyone else.  Aren’t superheroes supposed to be better than us?  Have a few more scruples?  I mean, I know the Batman boys would love to be a billionaire who kicks ass and screws anyone he wishes, but I expect better than that from Superman and Wonder Woman.  Clark works from his heart first and to have him totally not acknowledge what it is telling him – especially when he was working with Lois Lane for five years is intrinsically wrong on so many levels.  The same goes for Diana.

Now we find out that Diana and Steve . . . “totally did it” according to tweets by Charles Soule.  Too bad the readers never got to see that ‘sexual detail’ (riff off of marital detail used by Jim Lee to get rid of the Kent marriage during their infamous editorial retreat in October, 2010).

This is what bothers me.  What readers will see first (even though it all may have happened after something in the past five years) is Diana and Clark getting it on in the sky, in the bed, wherever.   We’ve already seen them kiss multiple times and so has the mass media with variant covers and a statue.

Is it all to get Wonder Woman more exposure so they can do a film about her?  Drive up interest in the character?  Does DC Entertainment have so little faith in the character?  Superman is a hot commodity with his new film so pairing him up with Wonder Woman (especially since DCE knew about the time table of the film) would raise her Q rating?  I think Lee and Didio need to take another look at the August 22nd, 2012 announcement of the kiss on CBS – Wonder Woman did not fare well.  She was called a homewrecker and a sexy sidekick.  The entire news panel rejected the idea of a Superman and Wonder Woman hookup!  People were literally throwing their arms up as if bracing themselves for an attack.

This is DCE’s strategy to get new readers?  Controversy doesn’t bring in new readers.  Sorry, it just pisses off the people who do read and buy DC Comics.

When are we going to see Clark and Lois kiss?  That’s the romance I want to see.   It’s a pillar of Superman’s mythology and without it, he is not Superman.   Did DCE think we wouldn’t notice that not only has Lois been kicked to the curb, but Clark Kent, journalist has as well.

Jim Lee was asked what he liked about drawing Superman.  He said wreckage and destruction.  Is that what the co-pub thinks of Superman?  Just a machine that destroys?

The alienation of Superman continues probably because Lee and Didio think Clark Kent’s humanity is boring.   He must be super all the time.  And if he does have downtime then it should be with another super being like Lee’s Mister Majestic and Zealot partnership.   Lee has stated that he created that character because he thought it was ridiculous that Superman did not use his powers to their fullest extent.  So he created Majestic without Clark’s moral core.   Superman is wearing Majestic’s collar now and is dating a super being like Lee’s predecessor.

I have been informed the reason people liked Majestic was because he WASN’T Superman.  But I don’t think that has stopped Lee from bringing Mr. Majestic to new 52 readers in Kryptonian armor and with a super girlfriend.   More destruction and less humanity.  Not truly Superman.

With the screwed up timeline of only seeing what has taken place 4 (for 3 issues by Diggle who left) or 5 years after Action #1, readers will think that Clark and Lois never clicked.  That they just ignored each other.  Didn’t have chemistry.  Diana will be shown doing all the Lois things ‘first’ with Clark.  This grieves me.  It sickens me.  Do Didio and Lee hate Lois Lane that much that they would sully one of the epic love stories in comics/modern fiction?

Apparently so.

Also glaringly evident, Didio and Lee think that 18 to 34 year old males are turned off by romance between Superman and Lois Lane.  Or maybe they think they should be?  Is that why they are putting Superman and Wonder Woman between the sheets before we even get to Clark and Lois hold hands?

According to Charles Soule, we’re going to see pillow talk as well as battling in his new book between the two super beings.  We’ll actually see that relationship progress.

Meanwhile, we have been told Clark and Lois are best friends.  We have not seen that progress or even be developed.  Why?  So Diana can easily replace Lois in the minds of new readers?   One woman is as good as another, right?  Well, perhaps not if Lee and Didio are of the Larry Niven persuasion.   I doubt those two are afraid Lois would die from super sex since they have no qualms about letting her die numerous times in the past two years.

Getting rid of Lois from Superman mythology seems to be the name of the game.  Oh, she’s been around over five years supposedly, but what readers will get to see is Diana did it first.  She’s the one Superman had the great relationship with, who he confided in, who he’s best friends with – all because Didio and Lee wanted Superman not to relate to humans and be a battling alien all the time.

Not Superman.

My, How the Mighty Have Fallen!

WARNNG:  Not for the young or faint of heart . . .

So DC Entertainment has made it official canon, Superman will partner (in every sense of the word) with Wonder Woman in their own book.   Taking into account that he’s also in the Batman/Superman book as well, it appears the Trinity is getting the spotlight but not as a trio – unless . . .  (never mind).  Looks like Superman’s getting more books but  ONLY as the battling alien.

As we all know Clark Kent, journalist/blogger, is nowhere to be found except in Scott Snyder’s Superman Unchained.  But for artist and co-pub, Jim Lee, Superman is all about destruction and wreckage.

The new 52 Superman is far more removed from his previous incarnations than the Superman portrayed in Man of Steel.   And one creator is worried that the movie people won’t take care of the character of Superman.   Have they been reading the new 52 Superman?  Have they heard or seen the interviews or panels and the imbecilic statements made about his character and mythology said by Didio and Lee?

One thing the movie has in spades over the new 52 version is HEART!  The new 52 Superman is a clusterfuck.   He can’t feel hot showers anymore, yet he eats hot dogs (even though he doesn’t need to eat) – all within the same issue.  Editorial mandates of no rescuing Lois, not being with Lois, not being Clark reporting, putting him with Wonder Woman so they can fuck while flying and writers who don’t TAKE CARE of what they put into the mythos – like not feeling the sensation of hot water anymore are dragging Superman to an all-time low.

I love Superman and his mythology.  It’s an ancient story.  A being with the powers of a god falls in love with a mortal.  While wearing a ‘disguise’ the powerful being tries to woo said human.   Siegel and Shuster added these elements to their creation of Superman.  Two worlds coming together.   The physically powerful with, in the case of Lois Lane, an intelligent woman with Chutzpah who took no bullshit.    The story components may be ancient but what rich and heart felt tales have been told time and time again over 75 years.  Superman, his mythology and what that means to generations still is a strong concept which will live longer than we mere mortals – if he has the proper care and handling.

Now to make Superman edgy and gritty and relevant to a modern audience – (would that be a more cynical  audience?) they have him kiss, date, and screw Wonder Woman, the most powerful female in the DC Universe, who is not mortal but a demi-goddess.

Sidenote:  (My male child reader of comic books would like to know how Superman stays hard while in the supernatural vagina.)

Their target audience of 18 to 34 year old males must want some beautiful, powerful female demi-goddess to pound their cocks into right?  And why not imagine you’re Supeman and you’re fucking Wonder Woman?  Her pussy can take it, she’s a supernatural Amazon!  Larry Niven would be so proud of what he’s created, I’m sure – and to bring it to life in an ongoing comic in continuity.  No need to worry about exploding vaginas anymore – problem solved.  Didio and Lee are masterminds of subtlety.  [sarcasm] Along with Bob Harras, they seem to be bringing down two of DC Comics greatest icons.  But that doesn’t matter, Batman has umpteen books and Didio just loves that.  Right, Dan?

It will soon be an all Batman world.  Next year is his 75th anniversary – how they going to celebrate that – give him another book???

So why am I so blatantly pissed?  This —

Superman: Man of Steel #131, 2002.

Manchester Black is emotionally and psychologically torturing Lois Lane Kent in order to draw Superman out.  This is Lois’ greatest secret fear.   AND DC ENTERTAINMENT HAS MADE IT CANON IN THE NEW 52.

Back then, stories and characters were written so you could feel their emotions.   I shared  Lois’ fear.  I lived it with her.  I still carry it with me.  This story called NEVERENDING BATTLE is one of my favorites and it had repercussions after the final panel throughout the rest of Superman’s stories.

Dan Didio, Jim Lee, Geoff Johns, Bob Harras and Diane Nelson have brought Superman fans Lois Lane’s greatest fear – and ours too.   We do not appreciate it at all.  They have destroyed Superman’s mythology and do not care.

Some may say that DC can get Clark and Lois back together, but it has been my experience with the new 52 that editorial will not allow it.  If they were to get Clark and Lois back together – that is a HUGE mountain some writer and artist are going to have to climb – and personally, I don’t think the new 52 has anyone GREAT enough to pull it off.   Especially with the current administration.

Superman fans have been waiting almost 2 years for a snippet of Clark Kent doing journalism or Lois Lane and him on a date or just reporting together.  But the new 52 Superman apparently is a coward when it comes to his heart.  New 52 Action #1 started six months storywise before Justice League and then Superman #1 occurred five years later.  Clark never asked Lois out on a date?  He fought along side Diana for five years with the only pick up line being “You’re strong,” and then BAM!  David Graves lesser gods (and the Evil Empire that runs DC Comics) slaps them together on top of the Lincoln Memorial talking about loneliness and secrets – and they kiss with 2 variant covers.  Oh yea, and a statue for $250.  It’s on Jim Lee’s desk as we speak.

Five days later, a floating Superman in the Watchtower tells Diana, “It was a kiss not a commitment.”

Meanwhile back in Metropolis, in new 52 Action #1.  Clark went to work for the Daily Star not the Daily Planet.  He saved Lois’ life, not in the usual Superman way, but by giving her lifesaving surgery with his fingernail (Action 12).  Don’t worry, that’s all gone.  Removed by Lord Vyndktvx – which personally I think is a compilation of Didio and Lee.

So for five year and a half years (or more) Clark Kent/Superman has known Lois Lane and yet . . . he’s never asked her out for a date.  Oh, he’s pined for her and thinks she’s the most amazing woman he’s ever met (this is after he started dating Wonder Woman).  There was plenty of romantic tension in Diggle’s Action 19 where we get got to see a glimpse of that chemistry we know so well.  Scorching!  This occurred 1 year before Superman #1.  (Wonder why Clark was so shocked Lois was sleeping with the guy she was dating for 1 year?  See, no timeline for any of this has been established by DC Entertainment. Dan Didio admitted so at a recent retailer’s roadshow.) But Diggle mysteriously quit for professional reasons after one issue.  He made no bones about his love for Lois Lane either.

There is no hope in DC Comics/Entertainment especially for Superman and his mythology.  Lois Lane has been fridged 5 times in 2 years and pushed aside so Superman can fuck Wonder Woman – because as the males who weren’t raised by women who taught them to respect females, all know – Wonder Woman’s vagina is the only one that can contain Superman’s sperm.   It says so in Mark Waid’s Kingdom Come.  Even though Waid expressed his story was never supposed to be used as a template – it’s deeply rooted in the minds of the men who run DC Comics.  And they want to share that with the 18 to 34 year old male population as canon for the character who stands for Truth, Justice, and the American Way.

So yes, having a Superman/Wonder Woman book to celebrate Superman/Lois/Clark Kent’s 75th anniversary (complete with 75th anniversary logo, no doubt) makes perfect sense, right?   Stupidity and ego much, Evil Empire?

Needless to say, I will only be buying non-new 52 merchandise.  But unfortunately the 75th anniversary logo has yet to be sighted on the digital-first non-new 52 downloads of Smallville Season 11 and Adventures of Superman.  Two books I buy in digital and print.

I am giving Scott Snyder’s Superman Unchained a try because he is DC’s golden boy and if it wasn’t for him – Superman would not have this book.  He is also featuring Lois in the main part of the story.  She will be investigating.   Still early days yet and if DC keeps pushing Lois’ greatest fear at fans – we may walk completely.  But we probably don’t meet their beloved target demographic anyway.

Oh well, no skin off DC’s nose since they want new readers.  Readers who spend their time in the bathroom or under the covers reading Superman/Wonder Woman with Rosey Palm.  Apparently.

My, how the mighty have fallen.
